FAQ’s
How do you schedule Behind the Wheels appointments?
Once you have obtained your learner’s permit, we would ask that you receive at least 6 hours of behind the wheel practice with a licensed driving coach (the person teaching you how to drive) who has a minimum of 3 years with a valid driver’s license. The purpose of these 6 hours is so you can learn how to stop, steer, brake smoothly and effectively, and demonstrate that you have control of the vehicle. Once you receive 6 hours of practice with your parent/guardian or coach, please call or email our office to coordinate a date and time for your first Behind The Wheel evaluation.
What if I do not have a driving coach?
We offer several practice hour packages of various prices ranging from 1 hour to 60 hours of practice.
What is the difference between a Practice Hour & Behind The Wheel?
A Practice Hour is an instructional hour with an MVA licensed instructor. The instructor will teach you how to safely operate a vehicle on the road and teach you how to perform a 2 point turn and go over parallel parking. *Instructional lessons vary on the number of Practice Hour package that is purchased. Ex: A student who has no knowledge or experience on how to operate a vehicle will not learn how to successfully operate a vehicle with only 4 Practice Hours.
Behind The Wheel is an evaluation of your driving. The 6 hours of Behind The Wheel portion of the Driver’s Education Program is completed in increments if 2 hours each, of which the final 2 hours is a test. You must pass the Behind The Wheel test with a minimum of 80%. This is accomplished by performing various tasks. Your score is determined per tasks to ultimately total a maximum score of 100%.
The first 4 hours of your Behind The Wheel, the instructor will suggest safe pointers for driving on the road, give feedback as your perform various driving maneuvers, go over steps to improve driving skills and will suggest whether or not you are ready to move on to the final Behind The Wheel test.

Students can not exceed two hours of Practice Hour or Behind The Wheel per day.
Do I need a Learner’s Permit to practice?
Yes, all students must have a VALID (current and unexpired) Learner’s Permit, USA Driver’s License, or International Driver’s License. JET Driving School instructors will not take students out without proper documentation and or corrective lenses.
How long after completing Driver’s Education do i have to wait to take the MVA Skills Test?
